Rest In Peace, Tony K
One of the original partners in Fundamental, and the owner of Red Rhino Records in the UK, Tony K - passed away yesterday, May 1st at 23:45 pm in Leeds, UK.

Tony was a great lover of music and life - was instrumental in bringing great American artists over to Europe and generally an all around wonderful man to be with. He fought a long battle with cancer and we are all going to miss him terribly.

He leaves behind his wife, Gerri and two children, Alice and Ben. Funeral Arrangements are pending.

Tony's list of accomplishments in indie music are stellar. He was a PR and Marketing Consultant, Distributor, Founder of Red Rhino, General Manager The Cartel, played key part in the success of The Smiths, New Order, Depeche Mode... He broke artists like Gun Club, Red Lorry,Yellow Lorry, Soft Cell, and much more...

One of my favorite memories of Tony was when he was over here visiting in the States - he brought Leeds Football Jerseys for my boys - such a thoughtful man. Then later when we were at SXSW, I remember him pitching Bernie Leadon of Eagles fame on why we should work his new solo record - Tony was in his element - full of ideas, his eyes sparkling about the music...

And he was a good connoisseur of food and wine as well - he loved life and he lived it to the fullest. As should we all.. Rest in Peace and Godspeed, my friend. TW
